Craigencalt Trust co-ordinates a "Loch Users and Projects Group" to try and ensure that all the groups that use the loch and the surrounding countryside can discuss all opportunities for best use of the area, for people and the environment.
It also seeks to resolve any issues that might arise and ensure that we can all work together. The group is operated as an informal committee of the Trust and includes residents, landowners, water-sports, leisure and recreational users as well as keen nature-lovers. It meets approximately quarterly to take projects forward.
The following work is currently being taken forward:
- Further safety measures at the lochside
- Disabled fishing station
- Creation of a "Rock Rest" picnic area beside the track above Kinghorn Loch.
- Upgrading the cycle path at Binnend down to Burntisland Golf Course.
- Adding new walks and inter-active maps to our website.
- Creating a new booklet of Kinghorn Loch memories.
• Since the Trust began we have produced two pocket booklets of local walks. These have been extremely popular and we are now out of our second edition. As we have gathered so many walks in the area we have decided to do something different.
• Our Pathways Booklet is being superceded by a series of inter-active walk guides that can be downloaded from our website, either printed or used with a smart phone. When complete this should be a helpful guide for people giving them a variety of walks to try.
• The majority of walks will be disabled friendly and ideal for families with buggies.
